Refunds and Right of Withdrawal
You have a statutory right to withdraw from a purchase within 14 days. Because a report unlocks immediately, you are asked to give that right up before you pay, and told plainly that you are doing so. This page explains exactly what that means, and when you get your money back anyway.

Your statutory right
If you are a consumer in the European Union, you normally have 14 days to withdraw from a distance contract without giving a reason, starting the day the contract is concluded. This right comes from the Consumer Rights Directive and is implemented in the Netherlands.
Why a report unlock is different
Unlocking a report is digital content, supplied to you the moment payment succeeds. The law allows the withdrawal right to lapse for such content, but only where all of the following are true, so all three are done at checkout:
- you give express prior consent to delivery starting immediately;
- you acknowledge that you lose your right of withdrawal as a result; and
- ReviewAhead gives you confirmation of that agreement.
In practice: before you pay for a report unlock you must tick a box that says delivery is immediate and that you lose the 14-day right. It is not pre-ticked, and the purchase cannot proceed without it. If you would rather keep your 14 days, do not tick it and do not buy. The free report remains available either way.
The monthly plan keeps the full 14 days
A subscription of $9.99 per month is not consumed at the moment of purchase, so no waiver is asked for and none applies. You may withdraw from your first subscription payment within 14 days for any reason and be refunded in full. After that, cancelling stops the next renewal and takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for; part-months are not refunded.
Refunds we give anyway
The waiver removes an obligation, not the willingness to do the right thing. You will be refunded, on request, where:
- the scan failed, or produced no report, for a reason on ReviewAhead's side;
- you were charged twice for the same report;
- the report you unlocked was empty or plainly broken;
- you bought a report unlock while an active subscription already covered it.
Ask within 30 days and it will be refunded. A refund is not given simply because the report found fewer problems than you expected: a scan that finds little is the service working, not failing.
None of this affects your statutory rights if the service is not as described. Those rights cannot be waived, and the consent above does not touch them.
How to ask
Email (no contact address published) from the address you used at checkout, or include the receipt number from your invoice. Say what you bought and what went wrong. You do not need a form or a particular wording, though the EU model withdrawal form is accepted if you prefer it.
Refunds are returned to the original payment method, through Stripe, within 14 days of the request being accepted. Stripe may take a few further days to show it on your statement. No fee is charged for a refund.
Prices and tax
A report unlock is $4.99 and the monthly plan is $9.99. Prices are shown before you pay. Tax is calculated at checkout from the billing address you give, and a business supplying a valid VAT number in the EU is reverse-charged rather than taxed twice. An invoice is issued for every purchase.
Complaints
Write to (no contact address published) first. If that does not settle it, consumers in the EU may use the European Commission's online dispute resolution platform, and may bring proceedings in the courts of the country they live in.
